Yun Shin, Director

Yun Shin attended New York University, where he graduated on the dean's list with a double major in Film/TV Production and Political Science. During his time in NYC, Yun completed a cult senior thesis film starring George Takei of Star Trek fame and interned at Saturday Night Live.

His movie aesthetics and technical skills would later land him at Pixar Animation Studios, where he worked as a Layout Artist on such films as The Incredibles, and Monster's Inc. Somehow during the grueling hours of CG production, Yun managed to keep honing his traditional production skills in numerous film and video projects, including the role of DP in a documentary on belly dancing titled Tribal Style.

After three long years working with computer generated characters, Yun decided to take a break and refocus on his true passion of live action filmmaking. He's currently overseeing the post-production of Love in the Age of Fishsticks, his first feature film.

J. Jehuda Garcia, Producer

J. Jehuda Garcia is an alumnus of NYU film school, where he befriended director Yun Shin and screenwriter Dan Hickey. He graduated in 1992 after producing a 35mm short thesis film about two old ladies on a road trip from New York to Texas.

He has over a decade's experience in broadcast TV production and TV marketing, having worked for such entertainment concerns as Extra and E! Entertainment. In 2003 he made the jump into the world of feature film production as co-producer of the horror feature Death by Engagement, starring P.J. Soles (a Yun Shin favorite) and Iyari Limon of Buffy the Vampire Slayer fame.

Mr. Garcia and Mr. Shin have been collaborating creatively since 2003, when they produced and shot the short film "Chasing Pussycat" for Mr. Garcia to direct.

Daniel Hickey, Writer

Dan Hickey lives in Seattle and is the Editorial Lead for the Microsoft Casual Games group responsible for guiding the content on MSN Games, Xbox Live Arcade, Windows Live Messenger Games, and more. He's written dozens of scripts for Jennifer Lopez, Ice Cube, LeAnn Rimes, Cal Ripken and many other celebrities who have been featured in the innovative, interactive game/talk show OutSmart. He's also written the story, script and all script elements for multi-million dollar retail console games developed by Electronic Arts and THQ Games.

Dan rushed through NYU Film School with a BFA in Film Production in three years. While there he wrote the twisted dark fantasy screenplay Mime and Punishment and produced the short noir film Lights Out, directed by Sean Baker (Take Out, Four Letter Words). He also met producer J. Jehuda Garcia and began a creative partnership with director Yun Shin that has lasted for over fifteen years.

Dan spent time as an agent's assistant (terrible), a script analyst for Alcon films (fun), and a paid screenwriter of many an unproduced film (cool to an extent). He reconnected with director Yun Shin and the two collaborated on the short film Bindler's Missed and five short films commissioned by the film website eveo.com. He also worked on Barbara Boxer's 1998 Senate campaign and was hired on as part of her Los Angeles senate staff. Love in the Age of Fishsticks is his first produced feature-length film.

Lou Weinert, Director of Photography

Lou Weinert has been working as a cinematographer for nine years, a commercial director for five years and a filmmaker for nearly twenty years. While attending Loyola Marymount University film school in Los Angeles, Lou shot his first film in Cuernavaca, Mexico, a 9 minute documentary about the local butchers and slaughterhouse workers.

Graduating in 1986, Lou began his professional career as a Los Angeles-based camera assistant, accumulating numerous credits on major motion pictures and national commercial spots. In 1997, Lou directed a 35mm narrative short titled Lark Rhapsody. Lark Rhapsody toured the international film festival circuit, exhibiting at over 30 venues worldwide. With the success of Lark Rhapsody, ad agencies and production companies extended invitations for Lou to focus his skills on commercial directing.

Lou has also worked as camera operator and second-unit DP on numerous major Hollywood studio features. The fine Super16mm cinematography of Love in the Age of Fishsticks is only one of Lou's latest accomplishments.
